things in japan
hi again,
just read a favourable review of the last game i worked on called i-ninja for namco.
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=54275
i was one of the lead artists on it... Hi to all at argonaut...
also bought more capsule toys today, theres some called cube world, lots of white bear like creatures, with chainsaws, guitars.
vanimal zoo seem to be doing lots of nice toys lately.
i'll try and add a gallery to my website soon to show some of this stuff (which could end up on ebay)
its snowing in tokyo, and very cold....
went out yesterday, lots of odd toys and character figures around, had chinese food (nice, but u dont get the amounts u get in the uk).
in shibuya there was a band playing just outside the tube station, full drum kit, keyboards etc, you'd get locked up for that in the uk ...people near the tube were body popping to art of noise too, but i didnt join in...too old for that now (or too lazy ..not sure which).
lately i been readin some books on american politics and corruption, theyre like michael moore (did bowling for columbine) style journalism. all of them say pretty much the same thing, politics is corrupt beyond belief, especially in usa, where they seem to do what they like as long as theres profit in it, while screwing the electorate. The one I'm reading now is "the best democracy money can buy" by greg palast (i think)..other good books are from michael moore and al frankin.
anyway...time to read a few phrase books and figure out what food i'm buying.
well, i'm here at last...and i cant beleive how quick my broadband connection is :)
other than that...the apartment is quite small, though not small in japanese standards, i'll post some piccies soon. ive already been to akihabara to look at new toys and gadgets etc...theres some very thin laptops around, personal servers (like an ipod with wireless connection and 20gig drive, for your network!)..
and..ive now got blonde dreads, instead of the blue/red/black ones.....if your ever in camden and want to look a little different, goto pepis (middle of stables market) and they'll do any kind of odd hair thing u want. I think i stand out a little here. :)
thats about it..i think...flight was good (scandinavian airlines actually had edible food!) though the films were crap, the only one i could stand to watch was runaway jury, done quite well, but not my kind of film.
though i did watch battle royale 2 before leaving u.k , which though not as good as the first is ok, its worth watching.
on tv at the moment is a show about playing othello (the board game with black and one blobs).. a while in softmap yesterday the shop audio was a teach yourself english tape "can i have a photograph with you?" .. no you cant...unless your a nice cute 20-30 japanese woman :)
bye
