  hi .

well, went into london for the first time in 3 months..not much has changed to be honest, but i didnt think it would..

i saw shaun of the dead...really enjoyed it, i liked spaced the series, and expected this film to be good, and it was...lot of visual gags, references to other films, a bit of electro music in there(and they chose a really good track too)...a nice little bit using vinyl as weaponry,.its all good...

went around the toy shops in london too..basically theres about 3, forbidden planet (expensive and very mainstream), playlounge, which has more of what i like, qees, monsterism, capsule toys etc, which is a nice little shop, and magma, which is a good bookshop, and sells a few qees and things...its difficult to get used to prices in the uk, i dont think i'll buy anything while i'm here when i know its all half price in tokyo/hongkong...but i did order the new michael lau figures, as the mark up isnt too much...but ,for example, qees in tokyo are 500yen, and in uk theyre £4.95 (about 900+yen)...these figures are also blind boxed, its not too bad buying the rare ones for 4.95, some on ebay are probably £15,..but most of them are normal..i;ve been spoilt being in tokyo..i did see a few items i hadnt found in tokyo, but again, they seemed to be double the proper price..it might be due to import taxes, vat etc..

also, there are more of these figure/toy shops in one small area in tokyo, than the entire area of london that i know of..but london does have a lot of other things to offer..its just that ive got used to them..and i'm also quite lazy so i dont make the most of it while i'm here(clubbing, music, etc etc)..

i walked around carnaby street too, which seems to have lots of nice artwork on the walls inside the shops..one shop, deseil i think...has lots of new artwork which looks really nice, some london police artwork too,and real deal has some great art too, but mostly its more interesting looking at the artwork , than looking through the clothes theyre selling.maharishi is like this, nice grafitti and artwork and a small gallery in the shop, but very expensive exclusive tshirts for sale.and while i'm having a break from earning money, i have to trim down the amount of new tshirts i buy(i used to buy lots)

and so the countdown to hongkong starts :) about 2 months to go..

a quick update...found this on a japanese news website

TOKYO — Tokyo's Takadanobaba district will start on Wednesday using "Astro Boy" currency, which features the image of the famous "anime" hero, as part of local revitalization efforts, community members said Tuesday.

Shops, organizations and Waseda University will use the currency for community revitalization efforts, including volunteer and environmental activities, they said. Astro Boy's strength was measured in horsepower and therefore 1 horsepower of the currency will be equivalent to 1 yen. The bills come in denominations of 10, 100 and 200 horsepower. (Kyodo News)

so maybe we'll be able to spend marios in japan, sonic in the states, and crocs in edgware?...takadanabbababsdadaasaaaaa needs all the help it can get, its not as glitzy as other areas of tokyo..and its name is harder to pronounce, spell and say as quickly as tokyo...

another slight tremor tonight...more of a jolty one than a wobbley one..

havent done much, cant buy anything cos my suitcase is already incredibly heavy, but cleaned the flat, and threw away loads of things..

not an exciting blog..but im sure the internet is full of ones like this.
hopefully exciting blog will return...soon.

well, a horrible rainy grey day in tokyo...which began with a slight earth quake at about 8 this morning..its odd then things move a little...

other than that..watched some films, bought some food, cleaned the flat ready for when i leave,, :(

i can take my suitcase to the local convenience store, and they deliver it to the airport, so i dont have to carry it on the tubes/trains ...the worse bit is when i get to heathrow, and i have to carry it up the steps at nearly every tube station i have to walk in..and its gonna be heavy :(

or i could get a taxi, which would cost about 50quid..i think i'll risk the tube.even though it'll add about 1 1/2 hours to the journey home..

hopefully i'll do something tomorow...dont want to waste the last few days in tokyo.might go to some galleries,museums...i prefer modern graphics and things, rather than old paintings though...
