hi ,
well, my blog has become a little mundane and normal after running around tokyo for months...ive been stripping wall paper off walls and stuff, travelling on the bus, and shopping in supermarkets..
i'll try and do more things soon, scuba diving in a bath of jelly, climbing trees with elastic bands, growing bricks in a sea of lettuce...
i did a bit of shopping and browsing the other day...as some may know, i used to work in computer games..the company i worked for has released quite a few games this year.all of em took years to make, and its interesting to see them in shops. Its quite depressing too, to know about 200people worked on various projects from 5 years in length to 2 years, and they come out, and within a month or so theyre reduced to 20quid.Also knowing that everyone generally worked really hard all through the projects, the amount of stress, pressure, meetings, arguments etc...and all for ..well..not much except to get paid..which ultimately is why people do it. I always feel i'm trying to accomplish something, make something interesting, new, unique in some ways , push my own limitations and develop..its not always that the games are bad,its marketing, timing, what the market place is looking for, trying to make the game stand out from the hundreds of other racing/beatem up/shootemup/platform games...spending 4 million to develop a game and then to have it come out and be reduced quite quickly isnt too great..one of the titles recently released is apprantly out, but ive never seen it on the shelves yet.that took years to make..another one that took probably 5 years to make (it was started just after i joined the company)...the most successful game ive worked on was a big film/book tie in..its the only game i've had good money from, and thats taken about 15 years and luck to do....it can be a good job, but i think having a break from it is helping me distance myself from it a little, and make it more of a "job" than how i treated it before(late nights most of the weeks, weekend work, thinking about it all the time, trying to come up with something that might be interesting).
sorry, that got a bit depressing ....
the uk actually had a SUNNY day today too...and michael moores film roger and me is on soon..ive never seen it , though ive read most of this books..
and i'm trying to learn very very basic chineese/cantonese.. like counting to 10, saying hello..i can eat chinese but i cant speak it..unless its just sweet n sour, kung po and prawn toast..but i dont think the language is that easy

another week in the uk..
another week where the media is obsessed with beckham....(he's just a footballer with an ex pop star wife)..
the main news today is..shock HORROR!!!!!!...hes had his hair cut...
so sky news go into overdrive getting hair dressers, psychologists, anyone they can, to discuss the new haircut...either its showing a "fresh start" or "he means business" ..i heard his new hair was less european, more british...what a load of bullshit..
o yeh, and they arrested some people who could be terrorists, and theres gonna be a vote on europe...but these things arent important surely...why bother with these news stories when they could show a kid having his hair cut "just like beckham".,.,or even a girl having her hair cut "just like beckham".
if you have your head shaved..your only doing it to be like beckham..you have no brain, no free will, no induvidual thought..you just want to conform and be like beckham..it'll be known as the beckham cut...
so, if your not in the uk, your missing this important historic event..get your flights booked, it might not happen again..(untill he has another haircut).
