hi all,
i think hongkong has entered is rainy drizzley cooler period, we had a typhoon warning the other day, and its rained/thundered etc since, its still quite warm (about 26 ish ) which is warmer than the uk gets most of the year (there is ussually a few weeks where it hits over 30)...there is even a slight breeze too, but air con is still needed ...
i watched the first series of nip/tuck recently...its been on tv but i never watched them all, but after watchin series 1 i think its really good.Ive been watchin a lot of cd/downloaded tv lately, we get HBO (which is generally crap) and starworld, which is full american stuff, and limited brit tv like absolutely fabulous and coupling...they describe it as "outrageous british humour"..i dont think theyll show the league of gentlemen, or any chris morris ever..
i saw a beautiful mind film the other day, and enjoyed that too, the only thing that spoilt it at the end was when they tried to make jenifer conolly look old, and instead made her look like a hidious freek, i had to figure out who she was supposed to be as russel crowe looked old, but she just looked stupid..i hope she doesnt look like that when she's old, otherwise she'll need a bag on her head.strange to think no one in the makeup dept commented on it..(shhh, dont say anything or youll get fired..."of course it looks good"...)
ive bought lots of independant films to watch, one of the dodgy film shops here has a great selection of stuff, the kind of thing selected for cannes, or berlin film festivals, but never gets released in the uk, theyre all good quality copies, and cost about 1/4 the price of normal dvds..
its odd after living in japan for a while, where people are quite polite, dont push infront of you when waiting etc, to coming to hongkong where people just shove themselves around, no one lets anyone through the tube doors to get out first, its just a fight to get anywhere you want.
ive posted some pictures of hongkong on my site, the pictures with lots of people in are from sunday afternoons, all the maids/waitresses/hotel staff , (who are mainly from the philapino)come and take over most of central hongkong...they just seem to sit around talking and eating food, but there must be thousands everywhere...its quite strange..
and, not sure anything else is going on....i might go to japan for a week soon, havent decided yet..
byeee , please ignor the spelling mistakes...
wayne.
