blog blog blog..
well, i'm into my last week of doin what i like, I start a new job next week, back into doing games again, it should be quite interesting and challenging , although the actual game is pretty standard ..it'll help fund my next set of adventures around the world , though i'm sure i'll end up in tokyo at some point
i went into the old office where i used to work (and has since gone bankrupt) , its quite odd walkin around with no one there, as i'd worked there for about 5 years, made lots of games and some friends...a few new companies have risen out of the ashes of the company, but the u.k games industry is full of people looking for work as more and more companies go bust , it seems the days of interesting games is dying in the u.k, a few pop up now and again, but its ussually the japanese you make games i like...
i watched assault on precinct 13 last night... (the remake)...quite disappointing and standard remake, a few famous people in it to draw the crowds , theyve even dumped the soundtrack from the first one..(spoile alert) .this time its all snowy and the police are attacking ( i remember the first one being a street gang??), the cop in charge is still suffering from bad orders he gave years ago, which lead to the death of his team....can he do it right this time?? (and guess what...he overcomes his obstacles to get through it and...yawnn........you guessed the rest before i even entered this bracketed bit of text)..predicatable double crosses etc etc..why did they bother (except to give a few more actors exposure, and probably make cash, it certainly wasnt to do a good remake).....expect them all to be on the film shows saying how they enjoyed the first one, how the cast and crew were all great etc....and in six months or so, some might actually admit it wasnt too great, by which time theyve been paid and fulfilled any contracts they signed at the time... (ooo, i'm so cynical)
i finally got my online store working properly too ( www.ploom2.com) . I sell lots of small collectable figures, like dunny , monsterism , qee , and lots of japanese figures, i finally figured out some nicer ways of doing things, so my site can slowly turn into something a bit more professional looking. I'm thinking of selling a lots of my old cd's on there too, i used to buy lots of obscure electronica cds every week and they taking up lots of space and i dont listen to them anymore...i dont want to type in info on about 500 cd's though, scan the covers etc...gonna take ages.
and , im still slowly reading though the crazy rulers of the world book, where leading generals of the u.s.a army tried to walk through walls, levitate and stare at goats to kill them..
hopefully going to see pop will eat itself this week too..
